UDC Season 2 Official Rules

01. ELIGIBILITY
• Open to all dancers aged 6 to 19 years.
• Dancers must compete in their respective age categories based on their age as of 14 November 2026.

02. DANCE CATEGORIES
• Solo (All Styles)
• Duo/Trio (All Styles)
• Group (Minimum 4 members)

03. REGISTRATION PROCESS
• Registrations must be submitted via the official WhatsApp channel or the registration form.
• Registration is confirmed only upon receipt of the UDC ID.

04. MUSIC REQUIREMENTS
• Track length (Qualifiers Round): Solo ( 1:30–2:00 minutes ), Duo (2:00–2:30 minutes), Group  ( 2:30–3:00 minutes )
• High-quality MP3 format only.
•  The track must be sent along with the participant's UDC Registration ID on official whatsapp number. 

    Example: UDC26-0047 — Final Track

05. PERFORMANCE RULES
• No dangerous props permitted (fire, water, sharp objects).
• Late arrival may lead to disqualification.

06. COSTUMES AND ATTIRE
• Costumes must be age-appropriate and suitable for family audiences.
• Wardrobe malfunctions are not judged negatively unless intentional.

07. JUDGING CRITERIA
• Technique (30%), Musicality (20%), Creativity (20%), Execution (20%), Stage Presence (10%).
• Judges' decisions are final and binding.

08. AUDITIONS AND QUALIFIERS
• Live auditions will determine the selection for the Grand Finale.
• Qualified finalists will be notified via sms or WhatsApp.

09. GRAND FINALE

  • Finalists must submit their final performance track by 25 November 2026 ( Tentative )

  • Track must be sent to the official UDC WhatsApp number along with the UDC Registration ID.

  • Only one final track will be accepted per participant.

  • Recommended format: MP3.

  • Participants are responsible for submitting the correct final track.

  • Track changes after the deadline may not be accepted.

10. AWARDS AND RECOGNITION
• Trophies and certificates for winners and runners-up in each category.
• Special mentions for 'Most Creative Performance' and 'Stage Personality'.

11. CANCELLATION AND REFUNDS
• Registration fees are non-refundable.
• In case of event postponement, registrations remain valid for the new dates.

12. CODE OF CONDUCT
• Sportsmanship and respect for fellow competitors, staff, and judges are mandatory.
• UDC reserves the right to disqualify any participant for misconduct.

Online Audition Rules

13.Minimum Participation Requirement

Each category must receive the minimum number of valid registrations to be conducted as an independent category.

  • Solo – Open: minimum 5 entries

  • Solo – Bollywood: minimum 5 entries

  • Solo – Bharatanatyam: minimum 3 entries

  • Solo – Kathak: minimum 5 entries

  • Duo – Open: minimum 3 entries

  • Duo – Bollywood: minimum 3 entries

  • Group – Open: minimum 3 entries

  • Group – Bollywood: minimum 3 entries

Minimum participation is calculated based on valid registrations received by the registration deadline, not audition attendance or finalist selection.

UDC reserves the right to merge, cancel or restructure a category that does not meet the minimum participation requirement. In such cases, the organiser will communicate the applicable transfer or refund option to registered participants.

14. FEE & REGISTRATION

1. Audition / Registration Fee — ₹300

  • Every participant must pay ₹300 to register for UDC Season 2 and participate in the auditions.

  • The ₹300 fee covers registration and audition participation only.

  • Payment of the ₹300 fee does not guarantee selection for the Grand Finale.

  • The ₹300 audition fee is non-refundable.

2. Grand Finale Fee — ₹500

  • Participants selected for the Grand Finale will be required to pay an additional ₹500.

  • This fee confirms the selected participant's participation in the Grand Finale.

  • The ₹500 fee is applicable only to selected finalists.

  • Participants who are not selected for the Grand Finale do not have to pay the ₹500 fee.

3. Total Participation Cost

  • Audition only: ₹300

  • Selected for Grand Finale: ₹300 + ₹500 = ₹800 total

  • There are no other mandatory participation charges.

4. Important

  • The ₹300 audition fee and ₹500 Grand Finale fee are separate payments.

  • The ₹500 Grand Finale fee will be collected only after the participant is selected.

  • Audience tickets, if introduced for the Grand Finale, will be separate from participant fees.

  • All payments made towards UDC participation are non-refundable, except where UDC officially announces otherwise.

  • Selection for the Grand Finale is based entirely on the official judging criteria and judges' decision.

  • Registration or payment does not guarantee selection for the Grand Finale.

  • Judges' decision is final and binding.

REGISTER FOR UDC SEASON 2

ONLINE AUDITION — VIDEO RULES

  1. UDC ID Required
    Participants must complete registration and receive their official UDC ID before submitting the audition video.

  2. One-Time Submission Only
    Each participant gets only ONE opportunity to submit their audition video.
    Once submitted, the video cannot be replaced, edited, or resubmitted.

  3. Freshly Recorded for UDC
    The audition video must be specially recorded for UDC Season 02 after receiving the UDC ID.
    Previously recorded performances/videos are not allowed.

  4. Raw & Unedited Video
    The video must be a single, continuous recording with:

    • No cuts or transitions

    • No video effects or filters

    • No speed changes

    • No editing/montage

    • No multiple clips joined together

  5. Time Limit

    • Solo: 1:30–2:00 minutes 

    • Duo: 2:00–2:30 minutes 

    • Group: 2:30–3:00 minutes 

  6. Full Performance Must Be Visible
    The camera must be placed at a suitable distance so that the complete body and performance area remain visible throughout the video.

  7. Stable Camera & Clear Audio
    Use a stationary camera. The video should have clear enough audio and visibility for judges to evaluate the performance.

  8. No Professional Production Required
    Simple recording is enough. Participants are not required to use professional cameras, lighting, or editing.

  9. No Audience/Backup Dancers
    The submitted video must represent the registered participant(s). Additional dancers should not appear unless they are part of the registered Duo or Group entry.

  10. UDC ID Identification
    Participants should clearly mention/show their UDC ID at the beginning of the recording before starting the performance.

  11. Original Submission
    The submitted video must be the participant's own performance. Any misleading, manipulated or edited submission may be rejected.

  12. Judging Pool
    Online and offline auditions will be evaluated under the same judging criteria and considered for the same Grand Finale selection pool.

Important: Once the audition video is submitted, no second attempt will be accepted. Participants are advised to check the video carefully before submitting.
